Last year I was so lucky marry the man of my dreams (sorry I’m going to be a little sappy) and planned our wedding in under 2 months. Life just pushed fast forward and somehow it’s been a little under 6 months since our gorgeous and loved filled wedding in Dean, just outside our home of Ballarat. I probably mention our honeymoon on a weekly basis, during winter it was the only thing keeping me from hiring a moving van and heading north.
Of the many times I mention my honeymoon I talk about where it’ll be and daydream of the perfect few months we’ll take celebrating our legal binding. Now in reality we’ll probably be taking a week or so off and if my husband has a say (which I guess he’ll have to) we’ll be setting ourselves up a beach resort and not moving for that time. When is our honeymoon booked? It definitely isn’t and the extent of our plans solely lives in my imagination and Expedia wishlist. Of course I couldn’t help myself and put together a list of my top 10 honeymoon spots, plus I need to make sure my husband reads this blog and gets some hints. Let me know about your favourite romantic travel destinations or if you have any honeymoon spots you want to share below in the comments.
Fiji is definitely top contender for our honeymoon, it ticks a lot of boxes for us: short flight, beautiful beaches, all-inclusive resorts and the perfect spots to snorkel. If you’re looking for romantic paradises or even to rent your own private beach (fingers crossed!) then Fiji offers all that and more. For my spa loving self I’ll be in no shortage of options and for my husband to relax there will be plenty of deck chairs with a cocktail close by. Looking for the perfect travel package to Fiji, check out the current deals Expedia has to offer here.
Hawaii has been on our travel bucket list since the beginning of our honeymoon planning/after watching Jurassic Park. Its beautiful beaches and hiking trials had me sold on it from the start and with the countless idyllic snorkelling spots if its not our honeymoon destination it’ll certainly be a place for future travel. It even has a pink hotel, The Royal Hawaiian, that after I saw famous pink lover Megan Hess holiday at I’ve been dying to stay at. Thus filling my life’s purpose of entirely immersing myself in pink (kidding…sort of).
The Maldives is made up for more than 1000 coral island and is well known for its stunning cystral clear blue water. It’s boasts numerous overwater bungalow and resorts that know the true definition of a fully relaxing holiday. I’ve always loved the idea of stepping down from my suite straight into the ocean and honestly I could probably just float away for a couple of years.
Fishing, swimming, snorkelling and all-inclusive resorts overlooking beautiful coral reefs. It’s definitely a dream honeymoon location. With overwater bungalow as far as the eye can see there isn’t any shortage of resorts to set up camp. Volcanic landscape surrounds the turquoise lagoon that is home to countless fish that we’d love to snorkel around. I’m already picturing a candlelight dinner on the beach after a day of 4wd around the tropical island. The only drawback is trying to pick just one resort from the endless oasis’s.
